Twitter CEO Defends Shadow Banning as ‘Conversational Health Work’

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 14:33

It seems like “healthy conversation” can now be a code word on the left for “censorship.” Twitter was forced to explain itself after Vice published a study on July 25 accusing Twitter of “shadowbanning” conservatives, including RNC chair Ronna McDaniel, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA). According to Vice, notable conservative figures didn’t show up in the Twitter search bar as suggested results, while progressive figures showed up immediately.

Rubin Unhinged: GOP ‘Obstructing Justice’ With Rosenstein Impeachment

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 03:53

A group of House Republicans dropped a bombshell on Washington, D.C. Wednesday night when they introduced articles of impeachment against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. They allege Rosenstein had been stonewalling the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees in not turning over documents they requested for months. But those facts be damned on MSNBC’s All In where Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin declared they were the ones “obstructing justice”.

Morning Joe Panel Compares Trump to Erdogan, Slams His 'Enemies List'

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 02:17

During Tuesday’s edition of Morning Joe, the panel engaged in quite a bit of hyperbole when reacting to President Trump’s threat to revoke the security clearances of former Obama administration officials including former CIA Director John Brennan. Keep in mind that all of the media overreaction comes despite the fact that President Trump has only threatened to revoke the security clearances thus far.

Matthews Compares Trump to a Communist for Banning CNN Reporter, Setting AF1 TVs to FNC

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 02:06

Offering quite the overreaction to the controversial White House decision to ban CNN White House reporter Kaitlan Collins, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews loosely tied President Trump to communist regimes of yesteryear when “people were only allowed to hear news from the government, that you got arrested or worse if you were caught even listening to news from anywhere else.”

Nets Mostly Ignore Good Guys With Guns, But Hype One Bad Case

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 01:45

Over the past several days, the broadcast networks and CNN have shown a blatant double standard in showing more interest in a concealed carry holder who may have abused his right to self-defense by picking a fight with a man before shooting him, in contrast with several other cases from recent weeks in which gun owners more sympathetically used their weapons to defend themselves against unprovoked attacks.

Nets Refuse to Declare Trump Victorious as E.U. Buckles on Trade

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 01:09

At a Wednesday press conference in the White House Rose Garden, President Trump and E.U. Chief Executive Jean-Claude Juncker announced that the two trade partners were moving forward on a plan to end their trade war. Juncker’s presence at the White House illustrated that it was the E.U. that caved under pressure, but the liberal broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) were having none of it and refused to give Trump the win.

White House Bans CNN’s Kaitlan Collins from Event in ‘Unprecedented’ ‘Attack’ on Reporters

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 00:25

On Wednesday afternoon, the White House took the step of banning CNN White House reporter Kaitlan Collins from a Rose Garden announcement about tariffs following what the Trump administration believed were inappropriate questions shouted by Collins hours earlier about Michael Cohen and Vladimir Putin to the President. In reacting to this move, however, CNN’s Situation Room host Wolf Blitzer falsely decried the move as “unprecedented” and behavior fitting for “some totalitarian regime.” Really.

RESTON, VA -- Media Research Center (MRC) President Brent Bozell issued the following statement Wednesday in response to a report from Vice News that found Twitter is ‘shadow banning” prominent conservative leaders and members of Congress -- impeding users’ access to their public profiles. In April, MRC released an extensive report detailing the censorship of conservative voices by Twitter and other social media companies.

Shared Wisdom on a Silver Anniversary

Wed, 07/25/2018 - 21:51

To commemorate my 25th wedding anniversary this week to my husband, Jesse, I asked readers on Facebook to share their own secrets to a long happy marriage. In short, the crowdsourced recipe for marital endurance includes faith, forgiveness, romance, kindness, selflessness and a healthy dose of humor. A union built to last begins with a promise and persists through compromise and commitment. It is about keeping your word, choosing the right words and knowing when no words are necessary.

Can We Trust Experts?

Wed, 07/25/2018 - 21:47

Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers predicted that if Donald Trump were elected, there would be a protracted recession within 18 months. Heeding its experts, a month before the election, The Washington Post ran an editorial with the headline “A President Trump Could Destroy The World Economy.” Steve Rattner, a Democratic financier and former head of the National Economic Council, warned, “If the unlikely event happens and Trump wins, you will see a market crash of historic proportions.”

Wed, 07/25/2018 - 21:33

Day after day in the Trump era, one has to wonder if the left and their media allies will run out of panic buttons to push. Such was the case Tuesday night on MSNBC’s Hardball as host Chris Matthews and his A-Block panelists accused the President of being a “delusional” “strong man” than ever and akin to John Wilkes Booth agreeing to criminal questioning without having to talk about Ford’s Theater.

Wed, 07/25/2018 - 21:30

Liberal MSNBC journalist Chris Hayes admitted reality on Tuesday and tweeted that haranguing people about global warming is a “ratings killer.” This is the same man who once starred in an ad where he biked to work in order to save the planet. Now, he can’t be bothered. After tweeting about the “disaster” that is climate change, he was called out for not doing stories on the subject.

Vice Claims Twitter Is ‘Shadow Banning’ Conservatives

Wed, 07/25/2018 - 20:58

Following a report from Gizmodo, left-wing news site Vice News has accused Twitter of “shadow banning” right-wing personalities, politicians, and political pundits. In a piece, Vice proclaimed in the headline, “Twitter is ‘shadow banning’ prominent Republicans like the RNC chair and Trump Jr.’s spokesman.” According to the report, searches for Republican Party chair Ronna McDaniel, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) all do not automatically fill into the search bar when users begin to look up their accounts if they do not follow those accounts. The search also reportedly fails to list the verified account for Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA).

NYT Treats Census Citizenship Query as Sinister, Ignores Presence on 2000 Form

Wed, 07/25/2018 - 20:00

In Wednesday’s New York Times, Michael Wines targeted Commerce Secretary Wilbur L. Ross Jr.’s explanations for why the Trump administration added a question about citizenship to the 2020 census -- or more accurately, re-added and expanded. In “A Question’s Murky Path Onto the 2020 Census,” Wines went on the warpath against a very basic proposed Census question about citizenship, one that last appeared on a Census form -- the “long-form” version -- in 2000 (the next to last Census taking).

Le llegó la hora a Univision

Wed, 07/25/2018 - 19:20

La compra de Univision de lo que quedó de Gawker era, predeciblemente, la crónica de un desastre anunciado. Informes de prensa ahora sugieren que el desastre efectivamente le llegó a la cadena de medios hispanoparlante más grande del país.

Wed, 07/25/2018 - 18:08

Facebook admitted it made a “mistake” when it rejected the pro-gun advertisement posted by a Republican running for agricultural commissioner in Florida. State Rep. Matt Caldwell’s 15-second advertisement features him skeet shooting and saying, “I like guns. I love the Second Amendment. And I support our president. That’s why I’m endorsed by the NRA.”
