Honor Killings: Murder in The Name Of Religion?

This is a sort of a follow-up to the “Some People Just Don’t Get It” post. Recently, a man in Georgia was charged with strangling his daughter who was filing for divorce from her husband. In the article “MURDER IN THE FAMILY: HONOR KILLINGS IN AMERICA”, 52 Chaudhry Rashid said, “he could not accept the "disgrace" a divorce or affair would bring on his family.” In addition, the article mentions that the United Nations estimates about 5,000 women a year fall victim to “Honor Killings.”

Although it may not be the “Politically Correct” point of view, I have always felt that religion, in particular Islam, is at the core of most senseless murders. Just look at the number of innocent people killed by radical Muslims in the name of Islam and now add in the Honor Killings.

I decided to explore Honor Killings and see what I could find. Below is just a short list of a few articles I found when I did a “Google” search for Honor Killings. As I expected, thousands of links were displayed, from blog entries to major new agencies. The two biggest things I found disturbing in all of this is:
1. “Most "honour" killings of women occur in Muslim countries” (ref: Case Study)
2. Where is the international outrage against Islam and other Religions / Governments who turn a blind eye to this?

Some People Just Don't Get It

Rarely, does a day go by that we do not hear about some radical Muslims killing someone, blowing up something, cutting off someone’s head or committing some other type of heinous act. However, during a recent exchange on BlogCatalog, I came to realize some people are either blind to these events or just refuse to accept reality.

For example, during one of the exchanges, someone posted the typical statement “Not all Muslims are terrorists”, well no shit. I’m sure there are plenty of good Muslims in the world, but let’s face facts. It appears that most terrorists are Muslims. If not, then why do the numbers seem to indicate that most terrorist attacks and killings in the name of religion appear to be committed by radical idiots claiming to be Muslims? Why does the United Nations estimate that as many as 5,000 women are murdered in honor killings each year? I have not heard of any other religion coming under that type of criticism.

Now I know what you’re thinking. All religions have there radicals who kill in the name of religion and this is very true. However, can you name one other religious group or other none religious group who has generated over 1,600 dead and more than 2,500 injured in just two months? Look at other terrorist groups, from the IRA, to the FARC, to the Basque Separatists. Not one of those other groups has provided the body count that radical Muslims have claimed in just a two-month period.

In another example of stupidity, someone posted a link to a poll conducted by Gallup. The poll interviewed 50, 000 of the estimated 1.3 billion Muslims worldwide. The poll showed “About 93 percent of the world's 1.3 billion Muslims are moderates and only seven percent are politically radical,…” Now is 50,000 anywhere close to a fair and accurate representation of 1.3 billion? That is like asking 1 person in New York City “what is the best restaurant.”

However, based on this poll, we are told that the majority of Muslims condemned 911, ok well so what? If you look at 7% of 1.3 billion, you still have over 90 million Muslims who “condoned the attacks on the United States in 2001...” That means 90 million Muslims approved of the killing of innocent men, women and children. That sure as hell does not sound like a “Religion of Peace”.

Finally, the topic that Islam is not to blame, only the radicals who committed these acts are to blame. Nope, we can’t blame the “Religion of Peace” for killing thousands of people. I find this an interesting point of view. I wonder how many of the people who think this way are gun control advocates. Would they apply this logic to guns? You know, only the criminal is to blame and not the gun.

Regardless of what some people may think, 90 million Muslims approving of the killing of innocent men, women and children should be cause for concern. However, it appears when you are talking about terrorists; the “Religion of Peace” is off limits, even if 90,000,000 Muslims think its ok to kill innocent people.

Looking At Islam

With over 11,000 Islamic terror attacks and counting, this idiot is trying to paint a "Happy Face" on Islam in New York City subways.

Radical Imam Promotes Pro-Islamic Ads on NY Subways - A Muslim group, in collaboration with a Brooklyn imam once linked to a plot to blow up New York City landmarks, paid $48,000 to run Islamic advertisements on the city's subway cars this September. [Fox News]

The following picture from The Religion of Peace makes an interesting point.  Check out the site for more information about the religion of peace.

"This Israeli soldier was arrested for shooting a defenseless Palestinian in the foot with a rubber bullet. By contrast, the Muslim world celebrated the release of Samir Kuntar, who bludgeoned a 4-year-old Israeli girl to death along with her family. (Islamic values... much different than yours)."

Iseaeli-shoot

1,672 killed and 2,554 injured in just two months.  Islam, the religion of peace and it's a good thing they're not a religion of violence.  Do you have an opinion on this?  If so, tell me about it here.

Schoolboys Get Detention for Refusing to Pray to Allah

In a high school in Eglnad, two boys were given detention for not kneeling and praying to allah.  Now if that is not some BS, I don't know what is. England is having serious problems with muslims and their wimpy ass, politically correct way of dealing with these idiots is going to cause even more problems.  It won't be long before this shit starts in the US.  Check out  "Report: Schoolboys Get Detention for Refusing to Pray to Allah"  from Fox News and let me know what you think.

"BOMBS AWAY" Iran, Nukes And The World

We all know Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sounds crazy at times, but is he really crazy like a fox? Seems our political backbiting here in the US, the weak EU and the incompetent UN have created a perfect storm for Iran to finally obtain nukes.

An article in the NY Posts, written Amir Taheri titled ”BOMBS AWAY WHY THE US POLICY ISN'T WORKING - AND IRAN WILL GET NUCLEAR WEAPONS",  paints a grim, but logical scenario leading up to Iran finally obtaining nuclear weapons. This of course assumes Israel does not attack them first.  Well, it looks as if the future could get very interesting.

12-Year-Old Grounded for Too Much Internet Use Gets Punishment Overturned in Court

Those Canucks are going freaking nuts.   If the people of Quebec don't raise hell about  this in the streets, they are headed for a very sad future. What do you think?  Should the court have even gotten involved?

Dangerous Word Games (The Politically Correct Way)

After reading this, I wonder how many "Radical Islamic Fundamentalist" are jumping up and down.  Not because they are mad and ready for "Jihad", but because they are winning the Politically Correct war in American.  You see, by doing so, they make it harder to identify where the real threat is coming from.  America really needs to put an end to all of this Politically Correct nonsense.  What do you think?

U.S. Rep Calls for Revocation of Carter's Passport

Former President Jimmy Carter's visit to the Middle East and his meeting with Hamas leaders has set a very dangerous precedent.  The ability of our country to conduct foreign policy could be seriously impacted if we allow former political leaders to go off on their own contradicting official Government positions.  Carter needs to have his Passport revoked and all federal funding cut to his center in Atlanta.

Geert Wilders' 15-minute film, "Fitna," Is A Big Hit In My Book!

I just watched Wilder's video and did not see anything in there that was not true.  All these radical Muslims calling for Jihad and threating to cut someone's head off is not new.

If this so called "Religion of Peace" was really a religion of peace, it would not be teaching children to be martyrs, cutting people's head off or flying freaking airplanes into sky scrappers and killing thousands of innocent men, women and children.

If your Muslim and don't like the film, why don't you go cut the heads off of the freaking terrorists who hijacked your religion?

A Few Things You May Not Know

I was recently reviewing Blog Catalog and came upon a topic asking the reader to post five good things about President Bush. I found this request interesting, since most people would jump at listing five “bad” things, but I thought “Good” things would never be listed. I mean I have read comments on there that compare President Bush to Hitler and Sadam Hussein. Comments like these reinforce my thoughts about how stupid the writer was and how their comparison only takes away from the real atrocities these two animals committed.

As I read the first few smart-ass replies, it became clear where the thread was going exactly where I thought it would go. In no time, the thread was full of things like:
1. Nothing,
2. Never actually nuked anything, tho tanks fire shells with uranium tips that cause birth defects in Iraqis
3. Never actually killed anybody himself, just delegated.
4. He'll be out of office soon
5. I'd like to make a love sandwich with his daughters and be the meaty middle

Some of these responses may have been made in jest, but for the most part they were derogatory comments about the President of the United States. Try that shit in China…

Now, I’m not saying President Bush has not had his share of problems and he has made some questionable decisions. However, the ignorant statements made by these individuals in this thread highlight an even bigger problem in America.

Americans are all too quick to jump on the latest “dirt” and believe just about anything. So enter the Americans United For Change who’s intentions are to smear Bush and prevent any Republican candidate from gaining momentum in this fall’s election. This group plans to spend over $8 million to keep Bush in a bad light and to tie all his shortcomings to any Republican seeking the Presidency. All in an effort to push their agenda.

So bring these two elements together and you have the makings for one hell of a problem facing the American election system. Gone are the debates about issues and things that matter to the American people. Today, it is all about how much bullshit you can stir concerning your opponent. Just look at the current mud fest between Obama and Clinton. Both of them are lying through their teeth in an effort to hang on to their dream of the Presidency.

So in an effort to shed some positive light on old George W. Bush, I’m offering up a few quotes that you may not know:

“…the 1.4 million men, women and children who are alive because of treatment received through his AIDS initiative . . . "besides" the unquestioned gains of African American and Hispanic students in math and reading . . . "besides" 32 million seniors getting help to afford prescription drugs, including 10 million low-income seniors who get their medicine pretty much free.”   Michael Gerson

To be fair, the legacy of George W. Bush is not without its merits. There is certainly much to admire about the President, both personally and professionally.”   Monti Narayan Datta

“But he will deserve high marks for his leadership in mobilizing US aid to fight AIDS overseas. On Wednesday, he asked Congress to spend an additional $30 billion in assistance over five years.”  Boston.com / News

“Between 2000 and 2003, productivity grew at the fastest three year rate in more than 50 years.”

“In September 2003, the U.S. Department of Commerce reported the lowest unemployment rate (5.4%) since October 2001.”

“The president's tax relief allowed families to keep more of what they earn by cutting tax rates across the board.”  US. Department of State
