U.S. Rep Calls for Revocation of Carter's Passport
Former President Jimmy Carter's visit to the Middle East and his meeting with Hamas leaders has set a very dangerous precedent. The ability of our country to conduct foreign policy could be seriously impacted if we allow former political leaders to go off on their own contradicting official Government positions. Carter needs to have his Passport revoked and all federal funding cut to his center in Atlanta.

What I found amazing was I had more people who agreed with Carter meeting with Hamas, then disagreed.
I find this very scaring. As I mentioned, we can not have former presidents trying to affect the current administrations foreign policy. Carter's complete disregard for the Bush administrations foreign policy was flat out wrong and set a dangerous precedent. Clinton and Obama need to condemn Carter's actions and demand this not happen again.
If one of them get elected, how would they react if old GW went on a world tour countering their foreign policy?
It is amazing that Carter should get away with this - would he of allowed it in own administration - then again Carter was shown as weak - which is the major overall concern of any of the players in the middle east - never mind the culture
A former president by themselves carry a fair amount of cachet in foreign countries and cultures. It would appear to be semi official dealings. Condileeza Rice should not allow this and take away Carter's passport. The precedent has been done before.
If Carter wants to be delusional and think that he is a legend in his own mind fine - but he has no business acting on his own , trying to set American foreign policy and indeed in this climate make America seem weak and indecisive
Not one word of Carter's failings - his original involvement with Iran , their humuliation of him , and the resulting problems now. Not one word of his dealings and negotiations with North Korea -which has resulted in not only North Korea being a somewhat nuclear power- but also a major exporter of very dangerous military technology to the worst places.
Carter is not only a fool, but a downright evil and dangerous man. The left ( NPR etc) are so enamoured with him "Former President Carter" whereas they sneer at the mention of the current administration.
Carter has been bought and paid for Saudi Arabia
The sooner his passport is taken away and he is restrained to Georgia the better.
This will all end with crying
