Human Spammers Wasting Their Time

Spam is a part of everybody's day if they use a computer on the Internet now days. If it is not the spam email, it's spam on your site. I have been experiencing human spammers "ATTEMPTING" to post spam on my site lately. These poor excuses for humans must not realize just how insignificant they really are in life.

Humans are being used to get around spam prevention systems like reCAPTCHA that asks the user to select letters or do some simple math program, before accepting the user's entry. Some spammers are paying idiots or at least someone smart enough to add 5 + 1 or can identify most of the letters in the alphabet to spam sites. What these spammers don't seem to understand, is sites like mine and thousands of others use a number of different levels of protection that prevents their BS from being accepted.

The software packages I use automatically scans IP addresses, deletes spammers, sends their IP address to a specific site (Malicious IPs) that logs it as a spammer and in some cases, reports their activities to their hosting ISP.

So I have one thing to say, to these poor human idiots who have nothing better to do. You should just move on to another site, since you're wasting your time. Your spam is automatically deleted and the only thing I see is how many idiots attempted to spam my site...

Spam - WTF Is the Purpose?

I've noticed an increase in spam attacks lately and it got me thinking.  What the hell are these idiots really trying to do?  Do they really think they are some sort of great computer wiz causing havoc all over the world?  Isn't causing some sort of prank more fun when you get to see the reaction of the victim?  To me, I see them as just worthless little piss ants living in their parents basement with no friends other than maybe their lazy cat and some type of transformer figure on the desk.

Most of the people I know who have blogs, also have very good software to prevent these piss ants from causing any problems.   All I see are reports of how many attempts were made to post a hundred different links to some bullshit site selling Viagra or something else.   All that is deleted automatically, so I do not have to do anything.  Oh, well maybe someday they will get a life and come out of their basement to enjoy life, but then again we have enough idiots walking the streets now.

Major Crash Destroys Site

While trying to upgrade my site, I ran into a critical error which crashed the site. The good thing about it, was I did not have a lot of content. The bad thing, was I had spent a lot of time developing what little content & comments that were posted. Things I learned: 1. BACK-UP, BACK-UP, and oh, BACK-UP your site. Although, I'm not sure how to do this, I'm going to figure it out. 2. If possible, you should build a test site where you can test patches & upgrades to make sure they work, prior to loading them on your production site. Although most of the seasoned bloggers probably know this, I suspect its easier said than done... Hence why I didn't do it. I have a hard enough time keeping one up and running. 3. I think I'll start writing my comments & post in a word document first and then cut & past into the site. That way, worst case scenario, I still have the content to re-post. If you have suggestions or best practices you use, please let me know.
